last night

last night we went to sanya kantarovsky's art opening  at marc foxx gallery
my son donovan was featured in one of sanya's films as a boy running down a road in the middle of nowhere. sanya's art is based on childhood memories, drawings and growing up in moscow. this film came from his memory of a tv show he used to watch in russia.
sanya kantarovsky untitled
sanya's recent works are painted in oil, watercolor, ink and bleach on canvas, depicting scenes of sole figures, each wrapped in its own moment.
it's important to take kids to art galleries and museums (even if they always want to touch the art:)
they are art's future.

We love taking our 2 boys to galleries too. We've taught them both a special 'Gallery walk' where they clasp their hands behind their back (rather like Prince Charles does) as they walk. The 4-year old in particular loooooves touching stuff, so this has worked a treat. Love your blog.

This is so fun! I always loved going to art museums and galleries as a child. It will be a must when I have little ones of my own! What better way to foster creativity?
