thrift store

today i went to the thrift store with 20 dollars and scored big! the cream and turquoise granny square blanket was $3 and the lovely floral crochet was $6 (great for the kids bunk beds this fall season)
there was a stack of brand new red and white stripe cotton woven rugs for $1
and the planter for my large aloe vera was $2 ( i think i'll need a bigger pot soon :)
do you know what this is?
it's a portable straw sunhat for $2   great to take to the beach
then there's this cute handmade cross-stitch table runner....
for only 50 cents! (i wonder what they're cooking in that pot?)
and this  soft gray indian cotton tunic is for me (only $4)
a good day at the thrift... now back to work!
and have fun painting another 'hula-hoop girl' mini mobile

WOW. That is an amazing score Kim. Excellent retail therapy! The floral crochet is incredible, and the hat, and the cross-stitch... Was that all from the one thrift shop?? I remember thrifting in the US very fondly. We had to buy another suitcase (in a thrift store of course!) to cart our finds home.

saskia, yes, it was all from one store. total retail therapy. my sister is coming for a visit this week and we'll go shopping to another giant thrift. there are lots of great, humongous shops where we live. Time for you to plan another trip to visit me in ca! You are always welcome

Kim I would absolutely LOVE to visit CA again, and that would be ace to visit you. Ditto if you ever make it to Melbourne. We were in the US so long ago, actually too long ago! LA was one of my favourite places. Love to do Disneyland with the kids too...

Wow i'm a little jealous and just had a most irrational thought that maybe i'm living in the wrong country if there are such exciting finds to be had over the sea! Perhaps i should visit first! x
