west elm/ etsy pop-up

yesterday, the west elm/etsy pop-up event curated by uber cool and cute emily henderson (in los angeles) was a big hit! this was my space upstairs with plenty of beams to hang mobiles from
and a great view of downstairs. there was a constant flow of people coming to see the 12 featured artists and our works and i made a lot of new friends.
i shared the upper level with
 sass and peril's shannon kennedy (unseen in this pic)
and rosanna of iron cutain press.
i got a chance to wander downstairs and meet some of the other artists but regretably forgot the camera... some of my favorites were tracy of tw pottery, dominik and his gorgeous wooden cutting boards, kristen of pommes frites (i love all her soy candle scents), mickey from fabled soap co. whose super nice sister passed out wonderful little samplings, and elinor nissley of krank press (letterpress) who is about to be the owner of an intaglio press and has invited me to come print as a guest artist once she gets all set up. we have a lot in common when it comes to old style printing methods and oil based inks. so, i'm going to hold you to your word, elinor (;
it was wonderful to see old friends and make new ones: my dear friend nancy mungcal of pretty little thieves came to the show to say hello and it was truly great to finally actually meet her in person. hey, coffee next week?  + great to see you and liz too, leanna!
did i mention the dj spinning goodies and the fancy pink drinks of blood orange ginger and clove with spritz, pink sugar, stripey straws and sweet coconut treats from heirloom la, the glitter smilebooth? this was  truly a well-planned, organized, smooth running, non-stop fun, fun fun event. thank you west elm!

This looks SO ace Kim! Your ice creams are gorgeous. Wish I could have been there. Sounds like you had a ball. I just love pop-ups and markets like this. We have a few great ones here in Melbourne too, like Markit@FedSquare – you should pop over one day :)
