An Airstream, A Yurt and an Adobe

My second mobile homes......
Instead of the A-frame, log cabin and geodesic dome, I chose the adobe, yurt and airstream for a new get-away. By the way, have you seen this one on etsy? Love. love. love.
Mobile Homes is now in the shop!

For Mum and Mama

Just wanted to share some special orders I did over the week-end. This sweet little wedding hankie will be sent as a gift to the Mum of a betrothed one in England. It was the brilliant idea of Lauren, owner of Florence Blue . Visit her blog here. These natural, unbleached linen mopines will go to the owner of this wonderful organic baby shop: Babybe

Mobile Homes

This is my first mobile of homes: a teepee, an igloo, an A-frame, a log cabin and a geodesic dome. All places I'd love to stay for a getaway! It's in the shop now.

Repeating Patterns

Oh! I also just found it at Westervin too!

When Life Gives You Lemons

When life gives you lemons and you're stuck inside on a rainy day.......
slice those lemons, grab some old magazines and brown bags,
cut into strips and get to work.
Weave away that rainy day.
Keep weaving until you have enough to make a beautiful, eco- friendly table setting. A fast drying, water- based matte varnish (mod podge) will help to keep it stiff and sturdy for use. Trader Joes bags are also really sturdy and work great for the edges.
Mine is multicolored like the Calliope hummingbird.
( A view of the backside.)
This is my first time ever weaving paper and I really love this process and especially the finished piece. I am already working on another!
Featured the DSC Weekend Roundup, The Crafty Crow.

Rainy Days and Mondays

After the candy- coated, ground rocking, earthquake Easter Sunday,
the clouds rolled in
and it grew dark
and it rained all night and morning
during our walk.
(my son took this)
I stayed up last night listening to the rain, eating chocolate bunnies and
finished my rain-cloud wall pillow.
I'd been embroidering it for some time now.
I'm really happy with how it turned out
and so is someone else I know.

Spring Bok

My mother's old Jul Bok was sitting in the garage with its dusty red ribbon, so I decided to spruce it up for a fresh new look for the season. With a bright turquoise ribbon she now sits pretty but is no longer a Jul Bok....
She is a Spring Bok.
I can imagine her decorated with pink paper flowers and maybe some colored eggs hanging from her horns for Easter. That's something I will work on. But for now, she needs a partner. Since I don't have a male, I made this bearded illustrated version for her.
Have a Happy Spring Break/ Spring Bok?
