Vichy Karo

Last week-end my mom found an old dress that I wore as a child. It fits little C now. Tante Sylvia in Germany found my mother's teenage dresses, cut them up and made some dresses for my sister and I. She hand painted cute little flowers on the bibs. My mother told me a little story about "Vichy Karo" (what the heck?) and Brigitte Bardot.

As a teen, my mom idolized Brigitte Bardot who made the pink gingham fabric famous when she wore it as a wedding dress in Vichy, France. Karo, I believe, means check in German. So, this little dress came from my mom's old vichy dress. I wish I had a pic of her wearing it as a teen.......
With all the Spring Weddings, wouldn't that be a great bridal or bridesmaid dress to bring back? So simple and sweet.
I heart Vichy Karo. Vichy Bardot!
